What is the best eBook Reader or eReader?
Looks like there are a few eReaders on the market such as the Amazon Kindle and Sony Reader, but which eBook Reader or eReader should I buy?
Which good Ebook reader has a color display?
Which released or soon-to-be released Ebook reader has a touch screen AND a color display? Is there any device except the iPad which combines an Ebook reader with a portable video player?

All I can find are Kindle and Sony at $250-$350 a pop. Is there anything more portable/smaller and more affordable out there? If you have one, how do you like it?

Portable DVD player, ebook reader, laptop: Multiple devices or just one?
My daughter will need a laptop computer next fall for college. She’d like it now, but she needs it then. She’d also like a portable DVD Player and/or an ebook reader now.
Her birthday is tomorrow. I could get her a portable DVD player, or an ebook reader, but is that a waste of money since a laptop can play DVDs & display ebooks? Is there a legitimate reason to have multiple devices?

Best Ebook reader for displaying schematics/technical drawings?
I work on industrial equipment on offshore oil rigs. I frequently find myself lugging my laptop and/or cumbersome schematic books into bilges and other nasty places. I want to buy an ebook reader that will let me display schematics (PDF format) which are generally about twice the size of a regular 8.5″X11″ sheet. It will need to have 4 way scrolling so that I can view the whole page in full size (MUST). It must also have a search feature, as I also frequently find myself searching for a single word in 1500+ page manuals(MUST). It would be nice if it were small in size (hopefully small enough to fit into a large coveralls pocket)(WANT). Also, it would be good if the device is ruggedly designed (milspec, shock proof, water proof, etc)(WANT). ooh yeah, and a backlight would be handy for those dark cramped spaces(WANT). Thanks!

looking to buy an ebook reader and would like to know
which is best and the best places to buy. Also, I like
the feature that allow the reader to read aloud books
and newspapers etc. Does that work well, I think Kindle
is the only one that has that feature
