Ebooks what is your say?

I think Ebooks are just a fad (thank god), that won’t last forever. There are too many problems, your say?

Pros:
1. Faster publishing (although they can have terrible grammer and spelling)
2. Less space.
3. More trees saved (give me a break, the amount of paper you get from trees doesn’t even harm 1/100th of the trees in the world.)

4. Less bookshelves needed
5. Easy to organize your books
6. Lighter than books that have 600+ pages in it.
7. Easy to find where you left off ( but that’s what a book mark is for.)

Cons:

1. Books last forever (if properly looked after, which isn’t hard)
2. Make every print book available that exists, as an eBook buddy.
3. Super duper mega-long battery life, please!
4. It took thousands of years for our eyes to get used to reading print on paper and that wasn’t easy itself. Computer screens hurt the eyes, it makes our eyes blur or strain, and one can develop eye problems like nearsightedness. Even that protective screen only protects your eyes to a certain degree (don’t believe me? Look it up).
5. Color screens – let’s see those digital book covers in color!
6. Too expensive. Either make the eReaders much cheaper, or make the eBooks actually less expensive than printed books so that consumers can at least recoup the high cost of the device after a number of book purchases.
7. What happens when the power goes out?
8. Nobody likes to curl up in bed with a brightly backlit screen. When it comes to reading a good story, people prefer the feel and weight and even the smell that a paper book offers.
9. Not everyone likes technology, some people despise it. People who need to read big print will need bigger screens (pain in the butt, to hold and carry) Books can be the same size, just bigger print.

10. To complicated, you can simply open the book to where you left off. You can’t keep your EBook on 24/7, and by the time you turn it on and get to where you left off, I’ll have read more than a page. This isn’t Star Trek where everybody has a superfast computer.
11. A lot of people do not like reading a good fictional book on an EBook

Your say?

Do you have an ebook reader or do you prefer books?

I have just received a Kindle from a friend. It is lovely. It took so long to get here because the first was stolen in the mail. I was wondering who else uses book readers?
