Howdy

I’ve got a MacBook and want to know if there are any suitable built in applications for designing a cover for my ebook. I used a PC for 15 years so don’t know my way round the mac yet. It’s the current model BTW.

Cover just needs background and header and some text – nothing too fancy – maybe a photo too.

Or any free applications online to do the same would be good.

Guys, I really need your input on this one. I’m writing Stripe Designer at ( http://alexle.net/experiments/sd/ ) — It’s still in Beta at this time.

As I’m having so much fun making the app, I have another idea about writing an e-book on the step by step making of this web 2.0 app: from designing the template in Photoshop, to implementing the CSS, to writing Javascript using JSON with AJAX, to developing the back-end with PHP/ MySQL. The ebook is like a series of in-depth tutorials that covers both the background info (like CSS, JSON, AJAX fundamentals etc.) and how to develop a solution with the provided tools.

I’d think a person (especially beginner) can really see how everything in the Web2.0 spectrum is pieced together in a “real world” application (‘real’ as in a reality show )

If I spend time writing this e-book, will you consider buying it? If so, how much are you willing to pay for it?

This is ridiculous …. Why am I being called SPAM?

I recently bought a Bebook ebook reader. It works fine, but when I dowbload books from project gutenberg, like Animal Farm, the text spacing is all messed up on my reader. I copied and pasted the text into OpenOffice and adjusted the page layout to match Bebook to demonstrate the problem: http://imgur.com/IKU.jpg

Does anyone know how to make the words fill up the lines in the proper way, either using OpenOffice or any other free program?

I’m writing an ebook using Microsoft Publisher. For some reason all the photos don’t look as good as they should, just a tuny bit blurry. Any advice? Is this a known problem of publisher? Is there a better program I could be using to make an ebook?

Does anyone know how do i get it ?? I tried all torrent sites but its nowhere to be found ..

I have a few minisites that need graphics (ebook covers, headers, the works!), and I’m looking for a design site that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg. I would generate these things myself, but I don’t have that kind of time… this is only supplemental income.
