How to publish my eBook?

I am preparing to write my first ebook ever in Finance, i have been searching for free
publishing software, but i am confused on where to start!!!! do i start writing my ebook through Microsoft word and promote the book through a website i am
building myself? or go with Lulu.com (which i hear so many problems many having
with this company)
please can someone(who is not affiliated with any publishing company) give me real honest.
Also if i publish my eBook through Lulu.com can i promote the book myself too? Will they only provide me with POD service or download too?

How do you format number cells while merging into Publisher from Excel?

While performing a mail merge into Microsoft Publisher (2007) from an Excel file (2007) I cannot figure out how to round the decimals to a whole number in Publisher. I have done this in the Excel source file that Publisher is pulling from, but when the numbers pull over in Publisher, they still give the decimal amount, instead of rounding up or down. Example, Publisher shows 4.117, instead of just 4.

I’ve got a Mac, and I’m considering selling ebooks from a blog/website with PayPal as the payment processor. Should I invest in an ebook maker like adobe 9.0 or can I just create the ebook in microsoft word, save it as a PDF and make it available for download. Do I need an ebook reader on my website? Does it require an FTP device? How would I do that?
