Does anyone know anything about ebook readers like the kindle or nook etc? What about the pc version?

My daughter is addicted to reading and I was thinking about an ebook as a gift or a netbook with the pc version which I read you can get online for free. I’m really wondering if most text books for school can be found on their site too as her backpack is always soooo heavy. I don’t know much about these yet. Are all books the same price? Even text books? I wish publishers would some how make electronic versions of their text books available to schools with the regular books the schools by so these kids don’t have to lug the heavy ones home all the time. Ugh. Any info or advice is greatly appreciated.

need help finding a publisher?

In addition to my last question (ie giving up and thinking of going the ebook route)
What I’ve done so far
- Three professional reviews, from reliable editor (driftwood manuscripts) to get it up to standard. Not cheap and they didn’t pull any punches. The first draft was knocked from 350 pages to 50 fifty pages. Bit of a shock, but plenty of constructive critism.
- Over 100 reviews from the public (not family or friends) Including from experts within the field of work the book is set. All good, generally amazing.
- Research of similar books – The first 6 books I researched that were published in the last ten years were all best sellers.
- I’ve included this information in my cover letter to agents/editors.
- Last publisher liked it but didn’t want to take a risk on an untried author. They actually adivsed not getting an agent and think it’s good enough to approach a bigger publisher directly. (Random House did read but subsequently turned it down)
– dozens of agents and a number of publishers have turned it down, several of which even said they liked it, but again didn’t want to take a chance with new writer.

I am 13 and want to find a good publisher. Please help me. If you have any names of publishers who will let a kid like me publish a book, please tell me.

What difference does different publishers have on books?

For example, there is Emma by Jane Austen. There are Penguin, Bantem, Random House, Barnes & Noble, etc. Which is the “better” of the publishers? What makes the different ones stand out for Emma? I need to buy Emma for an english project, but the different publishing companies confuse me all the time. I appreciate you helping out ^__^ Thank you!

Can I send a cover letter to several publishers at once?

I am planning to contact some publishers in relation to a novel that I have written. Should I send a cover letter to one publisher at at time (i.e. write to one, and if it refuses, write to another) or to send out a batch of cover letters at once?
